Nokia Lumia 800 successful – massive increase in WP7 Facebook activations in the past two weeks
Nov 29th, 2011 | By phoneslimited | Category: TelecommunicationsIt looks like the Nokia Lumia 800 is turning out to be a success. Facebook account activations on the Windows Phone platform is on the rise for this month.
WMPowerUser keeps a watchful eye on the Windows Phone platform’s progress. According to the data it has gathered, approximately 600,000 new phones running the platform have been activated from November 11 to 25.
Facebook is now an integral part of the entire Windows experience. Measuring the amount of Facebook account activations on Windows-powered handsets is an accurate way to determine the amount of Windows Phone handsets are out there.
Of course, there are other handsets that contribute to this massive spike in activations. These include the HTC Radar and the massive HTC Titan. However, the spike in activations coincides with the release of the Nokia Lumia 800, which suggests that it has contributed more to this surge in Windows Phone-powered handset sales.
The Lumia 800 craze is expected to slow down by the holidays. However, it is not expected to fade away. Activations are expected to gradually increase in the future.
