A selection of 21st birthday ideas for the famous faces turning 21 in 2012

A 21st birthday is the perfect reason to celebrate and here are some 21st birthday ideas for the famous and non-famous!

The year 2012 will see a plethora of young stars celebrating reaching that age when they gain the ‘key to the door’, so with the help of activity gift voucher company Intotheblue.co.uk, we’ve come up with some appropriate 21st birthday ideas for those famous starlets.

Wide-eyed singer Pixie Lott turned 21 in mid-January and choose to celebrate with a night out at hip London nightclub Movida – all followed by the paparazzi of course. The young singer can’t seem to go anywhere without being snapped and we though the perfect birthday idea for Pixie turning 21 would be a stunt driving experience so she could put her foot down and pull a few moves to escape the paps!

It might be a bit of a ‘Busman’s Holiday’ for them, but with two Harry Potter actresses having 21st birthdays in 2012, we had the inspired idea of a Harry Potter Bus Tour of London. Bonnie Wright was in The Goblet of Fire film and Evanna Lynch played Lunalovegood. We think it’d be fun to see if the stars of the films recognise the locations used.

X Factor finalist Diana Vickers will no doubt be planning a big party for her 21st birthday in July, but our idea for the young star who is almost as well known for her bird’s nest hair as her singing, is a 1950s Pin Up photoshoot, giving Diana a retro glamour puss makeover that’s sure to straighten out and gloss up those locks forever.

Another X Factor star, Joe McElderry won Popstar to Opera Star in 2010 and he’s going to be 21 this June, so how about arranging a night out at a Summer Proms for a 21st birthday gift idea with a difference? You can even buy tickets that include a tasty picnic, making it a very relaxed and fun birthday activity for friends and family all together – and maybe Joe could get up on stage for a sing?

Last but not least, also joining the 21 club this year is the inimitable Jedward. You may have laughed at them on the X Factor, but who can knock these madcap boys when they’re probably now millionaires. We’re sure they’d love any gift you bought them for their joint 21st, but we’ve selected Sphereing, as we think it’d be funny to put Jedward in a large, inflatable plastic ball and watch them roll down a hill like squeaking little hamsters!

Choosing a suitable birthday gift is made easy as all of these 21st birthday ideas are available to buy directly online (and you don’t have to be a film or popstar to enjoy them) from Intotheblue.co.uk. It’s easy and convenient as each activity is sold as a voucher that can be sent directly to the lucky 21st birthday boy or girl, or back to the purchaser.

What links Dolly the Sheep, Madonna’s daughter and Little Miss Sunshine?

Dolly the Sheep, Lourdes Ciccone Leon and Abigail Breslin will all be expecting some rather special 16th birthday gift ideas as they all celebrate turning sweet 16 in 2012.

For anyone looking for 16th birthday gift ideas we’ve picked some of the most famous faces born in 1996 who’ll be turning 16 in 2012 to help inspire your gift buying.

Dolly the Sheep isn’t just any sheep, of course. She has the somewhat dubious honour of being the first ever mammal in the world to be cloned. Sadly she’s no longer with us, but she would have been celebrating her 16th birthday in 2012.

We’re sure she probably wouldn’t have expected any presents, but if you’re looking for a 16th birthday gift idea for someone who loves animals, you could look at buying something like an animal adoption pack, an activity day walking with wolves in the countryside, or even whale watching.

Being the eldest daughter of one of the world’s most famous stars you probably won’t want for much in life, so we’ll be interested to see what Madonna has in store for her daughter Lourdes Ciccone Leon’s when she turns 16 this year.

Maybe she’ll want to follow in her Mum’s footsteps and be a recording artist? In which case the perfect gift would be the chance to spend time in a professional recording studio and actually lay down a track onto CD. That way she can show her Mum the fruits of her labour.

As for Abigail Breslin, you may not recognise the name, but you will definitely remember the face. She’s the young actress who played Olive Hoover in the hit indie film Little Miss Sunshine. In the film, Olive is obsessed with dancing, makeovers and beauty pageants as many young girls are, so the ideal 16th birthday present would surely be a makeover and photoshoot?

These are inspired present ideas for 16 year olds – and all of the 16th birthday gift ideas featured and more can be found online at Intotheblue.co.uk, one of the UK’s leading activity gift voucher companies. Activity manager Darren Dray commented: “We have an exciting range of 16th birthday gift ideas that have been handpicked from our best-selling activities we offer for 16 year olds. If you need any inspiration on what present to buy a 16 year old, we’ve done the hard work for you!”

Officially the world’s most expensive 60th birthday gift dessert has been eaten!

Buying 60th birthday gifts is always a difficult affair, as at that age most people have got all the material things they need, so you’ll need to think out of the (gift) box when it comes to choosing that perfect gift for someone who is going to be 60 years old.

One man recently took matters into his own hands when he bought himself the world’s most expensive dessert to share with friends at his 60th birthday party. The dessert, which was valued at £22,000 is made from Belgian chocolate, sheets of real gold leaf, strawberry caviar and a sparkling diamond.

The lavish dessert was bought by a British man who planned to serve it as a gift to all his invitees at his 60th birthday celebration in December and the guests concluded that it was indeed delicious.

Not everyone can afford to be that extravagant when they turn 60, but we have to agree it’s much more fun to buy something that can eaten, which is way so many of us turn to gift ideas such as wine tasting, chocolate making or cookery lessons. Fun and convivial, these sort of experiences can usually be enjoyed in small groups or as couples, so everyone to celebrate the 60th together.

As well as gourmet experiences, you can also buy them something completely indulgent for their 60th, such as a day at hotel and spa, a romantic weekend in a treehouse or even an Orient Express trip. If they love the outdoors, gifts ideas like falconry and clay pigeon shooting always go down a treat with those turning 60 years old.

All of these 60th birthday gift ideas are available to buy quickly and easily online. The activity is sold as a voucher and comes in a gift pack that you can wrap up and hand over as the present when the big 60 day arrives. The lucky person receiving the gift then has a full year to book in for their gift and enjoy their day.

These great gift ideas from Intotheblue have been specially selected by an intrepid team of gift researchers at the company who know just the right 60th birthday gifts for those turning 60, both male and female, whatever they like to do. Online marketing manager Rob Holmes agreed: “We’re all of that age where we’ve bought endless gifts for loved ones over 60, so because we know what works we are only too pleased to share our insider knowledge of gift buying for over 60s!”

Your own ‘celebrity’ perfume – the ultimate in personalised gifts for her boasts a successful launch

One of the UK’s leading online activity gift retailers is branching out into offering some sweet-smelling personalised gifts for women.

Ever since the late Elizabeth Taylor launched her best selling perfume of all time, ‘White Diamonds’ in 1991, the phenomenon of scents brought to you by a famous face has really taken off. Now one online retailer has launched ‘create your own perfume’ experiences, as part of their range of personalised gifts for her.

There are 18 different blends that make the basis of any perfume that are then mixed and matched with other aromas to create the perfect scent, falling into the broad categories of Floral, Oriental or Fresh flavours.

Would-be perfumers get the chance to create their very own signature scent just like the celebrities either at workshop or using a special gift box in the comfort of your own home. Once the mix has been made, all that’s left to do is to give the signature perfume a name and the unique scent will be authenticated with a certificate.

Into the Blue is offering these make your own perfume packages on its website now. Activities manager Darren Dray commented: “The popularity of celebrity scents means we are expecting our create your own experience to be a best seller amongst our personalised gifts for her this year.”

According to the online retailer, in the first two weeks of offering the gift, 57% of all vouchers sold for this activity were bought as wedding or engagement presents so the bride can create her very own unique scent for her big day that is beautifully personalised for her.

Scents endorsed by the rich and famous are also big business. The Fragrance Shop announced the biggest seller was ‘Heat’ by Beyonce, closely followed by Coleen Rooney’s ‘Butterflies’ and David Beckham’s ‘Homme’ for men.

Darren continued: “From feedback we’re getting from customers the really fun part of the gift experience is personalising the scent by giving it a name, just like the stars do. This name and the recipe is recorded with the perfumer so you can re-order your perfume at any time.”

That top ten list of celebrity-endorsed perfumes in full:
1.    Beyonce ‘Heat’
2.    Coleen Rooney ‘Butterflies’
3.    David Beckham ‘Homme’
4.    Mariah Carey ‘Lollipop’
5.    David Beckham ‘Intimately Yours’
6.    Kylie Minogue ‘Pink Sparkle’
7.    Kylie Minogue ‘Darling’
8.    Kate Moss ‘Lilabelle’
9.    Britney Spears ‘Radiance’
10.    Victoria Beckham ‘Signature’

Mega Monday – the biggest Christmas gift shopping day on the internet nets £424 million in one day

More and more Britons are foregoing the High Street and shopping on the internet for their Christmas gifts this year.

According to retail analysts, the second Monday in November will go down in history as the busiest day for internet shopping in the year. It is estimated that Brits spent £424 million pounds in just one day, with the absolute peak time at 13:15, when many workers are on their lunch.

Following the delivery chaos with the bad snow that hit the majority of the UK in 2010, shoppers are buying their Christmas presents earlier to avoid any complications with deliveries. Of all transactions taking place on the internet on Mega Monday, it has been calculated that 33.7% of all purchases made were for Christmas gift ideas, followed by 24.5% on travel, 20.6% on decorations and 6.7% on food and beverages.

It’s not just one day of the pre-Christmas season when online retailers will be cashing in. Statistics show that £300,000 per minute will be spent on the internet in the run up to the 25th December, with websites that offer a pick of Christmas gifts winning most traffic.

To this end a selection of Christmas gifts and Christmas gift ideas from Into the Blue, one of the UK’s leading activity gift voucher retailers online, has been handpicked by the company in a bid to attract even more shoppers to their site as the Christmas rush gathers pace.

But it’s not just shopping from the selection of gifts using your PC that’s adding to sales this year, as Into the Blue e-commerce manager Rob Holmes commented: “We’re finding that more and more of our customers are using our mobile site to buy Christmas gifts using their mobile phone and smart phones. Our site is so easy to use that people can do their shopping whilst they’re on the bus or waiting for a train.”

This sentiment is backed up by forecasts from the Centre of Retail Research that predicts some 12% of all transactions will be done via mobile phone, equating to £1.64 billion of revenue.

When it comes to the reasons why shoppers prefer to buy online, it was revealed convenience, lower prices and less stress are the persuasive factors. With the High Street predicting a 2.1% drop in turnover this festive season, it seems shoppers are not going to be giving up their internet shopping habits anytime soon.
